Nagoya University Global Campus at the University of Freiburg
Our Global Campus was established in April 2026 with the cooperation of the University of Freiburg. Building on over 50 years of inter-university partnership, as well as the groundwork laid by our Nagoya University European Center (NUEC; 2010–2023), we promote activities in research, education and international exchange between Nagoya University and the University of Freiburg as well as other European universities and related institutes.
Leveraging our location within the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS), we provide a physical space for students and scholars of both universities to meet, exchange perspectives, and plant seeds for future collaboration. Through workshops and symposia, we help our researchers connect with new colleagues, and introduce them to funding opportunities to fuel their joint projects. Our hybrid conference– and lecture environments facilitate both face-to-face and virtual exchanges.
